Romeo and Juliet
Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written early in the career of playwright William Shakespeare about two young star-crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately unite their feuding families. It was among Shakespeare's most popular plays during his lifetime and, along with Hamlet, is one of his most frequently performed plays. Today, the title characters are regarded as archetypal young lovers. Romeo and Juliet belongs to a tradition of tragic romances stretching back to antiquity. Its plot is based on an Italian tale.
For me the story was very cothurnus. Even though I already heard the story because of its popularity I was still curious until the day I read the book. I was thinking if why Romeo and Juliet would meet when their families were having a feud. Questions like why would they brutally kill their selves were also popping out of my mind. But when I finished reading I realized that Shakespeare was a really great playwright and has natural skills for giving extraordinary twists.
Happy endings are so usual but that is what I prefer so If I would change some parts in “Act five, Scene three", I will let Romeo come a little later just in time for Juliet’s awakening, but Paris will also be there so he will accuse Juliet of infidelity that will lead to a blood shedding fight. Then Friar Lawrence will arrive seeing a lifeless Paris and a gawked couple. After that the Capulets and the Montagues will come and they will be more envious with each other. They will separate Romeo and Juliet. The Capulets will pursue Paris and Juliet’s marriage and that will lead the couple to plan an elopement. They will have children but their families were still not accepting their love for each other.
The kind of ending that I like was not that buoyant at all It was also not that quaint. For me I would enjoy story more if Romeo and Juliet could endure their love. Regardless of the ending still I will choose Romeo and Juliet as the most unique love story that I ever read. Therefore I salute William Shakespeare for having a wonderful creation that tells us Don’t make rash decisions. The second lesson is: Think through decisions. The third lesson is: Young love or infatuation is not a good reason to kill yourself. Also that pride will not bring you anything good and that communication is very important.
